Highlander Supper! | ||||||||||
What could be better than spending an evening stuffing yourself full of venison and dumplings, whilst surrounded by men in tight white pants slapping their thighs, whooping and yokelling and generally making merry? Nothing of course! And you simply can’t say that you’ve experienced mountain culture until you’ve sat down for a Goral supper - the traditional fare of Polish highlanders!
Think of a traditional timber lodge, decked out with and all manner of stuffed animals and healthy accompaniment of rustic accoutrements. Throw in a traditional hearth with a roaring fire, several roughhewn tables and stools, and, of course, more deliciously meaty food than you could eat in a hundred christmasses, and you’ve got the beginnings of a proper Zakopane feast! Last but not least, bring out those dashing mountain lads and strapping mountain lasses in their traditional costumes and get everyone to sing along to some traditional Goral folk songs, in between numerous hefty swigs of vodka, and you’ll find you’ve got the making of a pretty unforgettable albeit surreal night! | ||||||||||
